Fueling with Gas

Members earn a $4 Drive Credit when they put more than 5 gallons in the tank. If the tank is under ¼ full at the end of your trip, you are required to fill it. HOURCAR covers the cost by providing a pre-paid card in each gas-powered vehicle.

Find the gas card in the glove compartment, note the odometer reading before turning off the ignition, locate the PIN in the app and fill on up! If you don’t use the app, call us to get the PIN.

How to Fill Gas in the App

  1. In the app, expand your current trip by pressing the gray arrow to bring up expanded options.

  2. Note: If you are not seeing your current trip, you may have to first press the orange circle with a key logo to expand the trip.

  1. Select the “Show PIN” option in the expanded key view.

    • This will only show on an active trip, you will not see this option ahead of or after your booking.

  2. Select “Show PIN Code” to reveal the Driver ID Number.

  3. Follow the instructions on the fuel pump to fill with unleaded (87), regular gasoline. It may ask for additional information, including mileage of the vehicle.

Give us a call and we can provide the Driver ID (PIN Code) to you.

Other Gas Fueling Info

  • Vehicles should only be fueled with regular gasoline.

  • Diesel, E85 (biofuel), and others are not approved and may cause damage to the vehicle.

  • Fuel cards are limited by total gallons and daily usage. Exceeding these values may cause the gas card to reject the purchase.

  • Most standalone gas stations should accept the fuel card, but individual gas stations can have policies that do not allow fleet cards.

  • The gas card will not work at gas stations that only take Visa cards, such as Costco or Fleet Farm.

  • If there are any issues with the gas card, members may utilize their own financial system and submit proof of it via email to Member Services (info@hourcar.org) for a refund in the form of driving credits.
